MP ProSolutions was commissioned to deliver a new external fibre optic backbone across a large, multibuilding secure site. The client required a resilient, highcapacity 24core fibre network installed from designated core locations to more than 50 buildings, fully compliant with defencesector standards and manufacturer warranty requirements.

Planning, Surveying & Compliance

  • Reviewed all supplied designs, route drawings, and building entry points to ensure alignment with the client’s infrastructure strategy.
  • Conducted site surveys to confirm duct availability, access conditions, and building interface requirements.
  • Coordinated with the client’s estates, security, and technical teams to plan phased delivery across the occupied site.
  • Ensured all works complied with MOD safeworking practices, JSP requirements, and sitespecific access controls.

Fibre Installation Across Multi‑Building Estate

  • Installed 24core fibre optic cable from core locations to more than 50 buildings using existing and newly prepared duct routes.
  • Pulled, dressed, and secured fibre using manufacturerapproved methods to protect cable integrity and ensure warranty compliance.
  • Installed new external termination points, building entry seals, and internal fibre management where required.
  • Ensured correct bend radii, strain relief, and environmental protection throughout the installation.
  • Implemented clear labelling, routing documentation, and asset identification to support future maintenance and expansion.

Termination, Testing & Certification

Terminated all fibres using approved fusion splicing techniques to achieve optimal performance and longterm reliability.

Conducted full endtoend testing including:

  • OTDR testing
  • Lightloss measurements
  • Compiled a complete test results pack aligned with both client and manufacturer requirements.
  • Secured full manufacturer warranty for the installed fibre network, ensuring longterm assurance and support.

Health, Safety & Security

Working across a live, secure, multibuilding site required enhanced governance and safeworking controls: 

  • All engineers were securitycleared and inducted to site protocols.
  • Daily toolbox talks and dynamic risk assessments ensured safe working conditions.
  • Strict adherence to Permit to Work, confined space, and workingatheight procedures where applicable.
  • Zero incidents or disruptions to operational activities throughout the project.
